Alpenzu was founded in order to promote and to spread ancient recipes from Aosta-Valley’s cuisine and to make it possible for the numerous tourists visiting our beautiful mountains to take the local specialities home.

 

The Firm

A family-run workroom (a big kitchen), where we use old and jealously kept recipes and where everything is handmade in order to obtain natural and full and fresh tasting products without additives or artificial colouring.
Our daily work is characterised by the care of every little detail, in order to get handicrafts that are able to satisfy our most demanding customers according to the latest self-control rules.

The “Fontina d.o.p.” is certainly at the cutting edge of Aosta-Valley’s dairy production. This soft cheese from whole cow’s milk melts very easily and it is the main ingredient of the “Fondue with Fontina Alpenzu”, which is available in the traditional version or with addition of truffle or Aosta-Valley’s white wine Müller Thurgau DOC.
As far as fruit is concerned, we use apples, pears, chestnuts and soft fruits that we transform into “Jam extra” by adding a minimal amount of sugar.
Soft fruits and chestnuts are also preserved in syrup.
